The International Day of Peace, also officially known as World Peace Day, is a United Nations-sanctioned holiday observed annually on 21 September.
The International Day of Peace wasestablished in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly
In 2001, the General Assembly unanimously voted to designate the Day as a period of non-violence and cease-fire.
The theme of this International Peace Day is ''End Racism Build Peace''
Racism, xenophobia and related discrimination and intolerance exist in all societies, everywhere. Racism harms not just the lives of those who endure it, but also society as a whole
The fight against racism is everyone’s fight. We all have a part to play in building a world beyond racism
It is a day of celebration to recognize the efforts of all those who have and continue to build a Culture of Peace
